"Looking through a lens feels like stepping into another dimension. By making large-scale prints by hand, I aim to reconnect with the wonder I felt as a child—exploring the links between the empirical and the spiritual." – CASEY MOORE, Artist
Rise Art + Seen are pleased to welcome photographer Casey Moore to the platform, known for crafting evocative images that explore the natural world, patterns, and interconnectedness.
Raised in Switzerland and London after being born in Invercargill, New Zealand, Moore draws inspiration from landscapes as diverse as the wilds of New Zealand, the Austrian Alps, and the rolling hills of the UK.
Moore’s work captures the sublime, echoing the spirit of 19th-century painters and pioneering photographers like Carlton Watkins and Ansel Adams. His meticulously composed photographs delve into nature’s epic scale with surreal precision, inviting viewers into a world where every detail pulses with life.

By 2020, Moore had committed to expanding the series, deliberately creating a rush of images that now amount to around 20 compositions. Each piece in But For the Wisdom fully immerses the viewer in an impossible abundance of detail. The freedom of Moore’s process—he doesn’t see the final image until it emerges in the darkroom—is palpable in the results. The overlapping compositions seem to reverberate with an energy that can only be found in nature. They teem with life, both visually and emotionally, and remind us of the beauty in nature’s unrestrained wildness.
"This selection explores the overlooked moments of intimacy between our inner and outer worlds. These are works that ask us to slow down and reimagine the spaces we move through every day—reminding us of the deep connection between art and life."
The spark for Casey Moore’s breathtaking photographic series, But For the Wisdom, ignited in 2018 when he stumbled upon a verge bursting with wildflowers. Captivated by the riot of life and beauty inherent in the natural world, Moore began to experiment with double exposures, a process that allowed him to layer images and capture nature’s chaotic abundance in entirely new ways.
